Dear Friends and Family,

Thank you to everyone for your support on my road to recovery. It is hard to believe it has been more than a year and a half since I survived a brain stem stroke on December 11, 2008. I continue to be so grateful for your prayers, love, letters and calls. It is hard to put into words the difference your love, support and friendship have made in my recovery. (MORE...)

Running in the Soldier Marathon

Hello all, I hope everyone is doing well! I am very excited to announce that this November 13 I am blessed to be running in the Soldier Marathon at Fort Benning in Columbus, GA. This year I decided to run a full 26.2 mile marathon. I have been training for this race for about nine weeks now and the weather here in Georgia has been beautiful to train in! I am asking you to support me as I raise money for the SHARE Initiative at Shepherd Center.

Training Update

Hello everyone just a quick running update. I had a minor medical procedure on October, 23 and the doctor wanted me to take it easy for about a week or two so not much training recently to write about. Today I will begin to ease back into it as I am going for an extended walk this afternoon with dad. Tomorrow I plan to run again for the first time in about 10 days. I hope everyone has a great day!

Eating Ice Cream

While creating this blog, Wes polished off 1/2 gallon of lite ice cream to ensure he is getting enough protein in for his training.

New Skills- Blog Designer

Today I'm working to create the website for this blog. I've already started training and will be sending out requests for contributions for the Bridge program soon.
